Hi
JDT,
I'd like to add my EROS, N464BB to your gallery. I have 35 hours
on it now and all the bugs are worked out. The engine installation,
prop selection and radio setup ate up alot of time, the airframe
is great. Build time was 1200 hours over 7 years. I'm sure I could
do another in 500 hours with all I've learned.
With a Rotax 503 single carb, I cruise at about 65mph for now,
hoping for more with a different prop. I've had it as high as
6500' and have flown as much as 150 miles in a day. The EIS engine
monitor and MicroAir Tranciever really make this feel like a real
GA plane to me.
I also fly a Cirrus SR22 and a Cessna 182, this plane is a lot
more fun to jump into and fly. I've also been pleased by the engine-out
performance. At idle, the plane flys smoothly and if I'm up high,
I need to allow about 1.25 miles for every 1000' of altitude when
descending at 60mph.
Thanks,

Also...it
may be that my true airspeeds are already around 74 mph, based
on average GPS groundspeeds on cross countries...all at 5700-5800
RPM.
Thanks,
Ben
